Healthy Grocery List

How this works

Changelog

Current dataset: v1.0.0, reviewed August 2026.

v0.9.0

2026-05

First public build

  • Healthy grocery list builder covering eight food groups, with household scaling, budget fitting, and aisle mode.
  • Organic budget optimizer: greedy allocation by priority points per extra dollar, with four labelled verdict buckets.
  • Pesticide & nutrition map: every commodity with residue data plotted against nutrient density, sized by sample count.
  • Organic vs conventional comparison across sample counts, detection rates, benchmark proximity, price, and confidence.
  • 65 food entity pages, 6 rankings, 9 guides, and the methodology, data sources, editorial policy, and corrections pages.
  • Relative pesticide residue evidence index and organic upgrade priority score, both derived at build time from dataset inputs.
  • Refusal rules: no ranking below 50 conventional samples, and no verdict where an organic sample set is missing and the conventional index is material.
  • Offline support via service worker; lists persist in browser local storage with no account.

What gets logged here

New features, new pages, dataset refreshes, and methodology changes. Changes to a published figure — a corrected sample count, a revised price, a changed verdict — are logged separately on the corrections page, with the reason for each.

Planned

  • Automated ingest replacing the provisional seed rows with a row-level recomputation from the source programme.
  • Per-origin and per-season residue breakdowns where sample counts support them.
  • Shared household lists and a printable meal-plan view.
  • Regional price adjustment.
